This highly praised spy novel features a CIA agent working for a counter-disinformation team in Riga. Ari Falk loses a Russian podcaster and dissident, and then his Riga team is targeted. With his professional life in ruins, he is sent to London and told to “recover” for a few weeks. At about the same time, a famous and wealthy Russian-American hedge fund manager jumps off a boat into the Sea of Cádiz. Falk skips London to begin looking into both cases, which had crisscrossed in Riga. Falk and the presumed suicide’s daughter, Maya, team up and work through it together. It’s a classic thriller with plenty of confusing rabbit holes, but still a lot of fun.
